Landowners for Eminent Domain Reform

Navigator Hearing - Call to Action

Hearing dates: July 25 - 27th, and July 31st - August 5th, 2023. The first two days will be for Navigator's testimony, with the second set of dates set for landowners. Hearing will be held at: Casey Tibbs South Dakota Rodeo Center at 210 Verendrye Dr., Fort Pierre, SD starting Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at 9:00 am

With the upcoming Navigator PUC hearing starting in less than week, we have two Call to Action items of importance. It is critical to have a good showing of concerned citizens/landowners to keep the pressure on our PUC commissioners. (No doubt that Navigator representatives will be there in force doing the same.) What happens at the Navigator hearing will set the precedent for the Summit hearing.

1) Navigator Hearing Attendance - Whether you are being crossed by Navigator or Summit, please make plans to attend a day or two of the hearing to support Brian Jorde and fellow landowners. If you can not attend a day, please consider supporting someone that may be able to spend an extra day and attend on your behalf by purchasing a night stay at a hotel.

** Navigator landowners will be receiving a separate email from Domina Law/Brian Jorde on available dates to testify. Please be looking for this email.

If you plan to attend, or would like to help cover the expenses of another landowner to stay in Pierre, please help us plan by filling out THIS FORM.

2) If you're not an intervenor in the Navigator docket, please submit a comment to the PUC - Send a comment email/letter to the PUC stressing your concerns such as: the importance of an environmental impact study, plume modeling, risk assessments, encouraging the PUC to thoroughly consider any county or township actions, stating your opposition to the project, etc.

You can review the guidelines for submitting comments by clicking here. Comments should include the docket number (HP22-002), the commenter’s full name, mailing address, e-mail address and phone number. These comments should be emailed to puc@state.sd.us, or mailed or hand delivered to PUC, 500 E. Capitol Ave., Pierre, SD 57501.

I know the feeling - when you think that you have time for a breather, we keep getting busier!! It can't be emphasized enough how important these Call to Action items are!!

Thank you all for your time and consideration!

Kind regards

Citizens Against Missouri River Pumped Storage Project is a 501c3 organization that was created as a grassroots organization to fight what we view to be a federal and political overreach of the proposed Gregory County Pumped Storage Project. We chose a name for our organization to reflect the fact that it just isn’t Gregory County being threatened with this project. We want to portray a unified effort from both sides of the river. Not only both east and west sides of the river will be affected but several miles north and south from the proposed site will be as well.
